This beautiful necklace also doubles as a brooch for the ultimate in versatility!
The fine porcelain cab, infused with an image of the Eiffel Tower and Paris, was mounted and then surrounded with seed beads, added one at a time, to perfectly enclose it in colours of deep red/brown, gold and antique gold. I then hand-sewed a cluster of beads at the bottom and a smaller one to one side at the top, to mirror the floral bouquet on the cab. I used tiny white seed pearls, faceted Carnelian, smooth round Garnet, Citrine chips, chocolate brown keishi pearls and Swarovski crystals and pearls in green, cream, gold, clear and pale yellow.
The back was then covered with black felt and the edges further embellished to match the olde-worldy charm imbued by the image on the cab itself.
Looking at the back of the brooch/pendant, you will see the long loops that you can choose to attach the Rainbow "Soo Chow" Jade chain to, using the tiny antique bronze parrot clasps. The hoops are made longer rather than shorter, so you can also thread ribbon or velvet through them as well, for another look. I've also trialled this with a long gold chain, and it looks just as great - the ultimate in versatility!
I used non-tarnish artistic wire for the chain.
Size of pendant: 7.5cm (3in) in length (top to bottom of dangle) x 4.5cm (1 3/4in) wide.
Length of Rainbow Jade chain: 44.5cm (17 1/2in).
