This beautiful Chrysocolla cabachon was the starting point for this necklace. As soon as it arrived, I knew it was destined for a very special piece. It took a few months for inspiration to strike, but I'm glad it's finally in situ and living up to my expectations :-)
I mounted it and then beaded around it using Delica seed beads in shades of green to bring out the green and blue in the Chrysocolla. I then added 4mm Swarovski crystals in blue and green shades to further enhance the shading within the cab, then added smaller silver seed beads, a green crystal and a smattering of white freshwater pearls for accent. The back was covered with felt and then the edges were further embellished, giving the entire pendant definition.
The necklace is made up of green faceted crystals and green freshwater pearls, with a sterling silver toggle clasp closure.
