Annata Viola = "Vintage Purple" (Italian)
Believe it or not, this beautiful, hand-embroidered bracelet consists of metal buttons which have been collected by me over the past year and repurposed (the shanks have been cut off so they lie flat). I have used five metal buttons to create a very antique-looking, striking bracelet in deep purple/black and silver tonings.
The central button has had part of it's centrepiece removed and I have inserted a hand-embroidered piece into the middle to make it even more of a focal, featuring tiny 4mm glass pearls and a rhinestone, as well as glass seed beads.
The toggle closure is easy to fasten and comfortable against the wrist. The backs of each piece have been covered with acrylic felt so they are soft and comfortable against your skin.
I just adore this bracelet (it very nearly didn't make it onto the site - I was going to keep it for myself!). I love the whole look of the piece, it looks very "deco" in style. It certainly stands out in a crowd and looks just gorgeous on the wrist! The many hours of work that went into this bracelet really show.

To give you an idea of scale, the central bead measures 3cm (1 1/4in) in diameter. The entire bracelet measures 18cm (7in).
