This cuff is so named, as I finished it the day that Sir Edmond Hillary, one of New Zealand's most famous sons, passed away, aged 88 years.
He was a great mountaineer, a great New Zealander and widely thought of as "a good bloke" (as we say in New Zealand). For those of you who aren't familiar with Sir Ed (as he is mostly known in NZ), he was the first man to climb to the summit of Mount Everest, with Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, in June 1953 (incidentally, also the same day of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II).
This antiqued silver punched cuff has been hand-wired using several metres of hair thin non-tarnish silver wire, attaching well over 120 individual beads - freshwater pearls, garnet, peridot and citrine chips, Swarovski and Czech crystals, Green Aventurine, Serpentine, Coral, Blue Quartz, Amethyst and Pink Tourmaline (I think that's everything!). Not forgetting the faceted rectangles of Marine-blue/green coloured Chalcedony feature beads. It took several hours to construct and was totally worth it to see the result - encrusted gems, sparkling and beautiful! A real treasure.
As it is a cuff bracelet, it will fit all wrist sizes. The width of the bracelet is 2.5cm/1in.
ONE OF A KIND, will be beautifully gift-boxed prior to sending.
