"The Alchemist's Lover" has been on my workbench since I watched the first episode of "Game of Thrones" a few weeks back. Seeing the fantasy, the costumes, the lifestyle portrayed in that world re-ignited my love of the medieval and I suddenly had a hankering to revisit these lovely little glass vials that I'd had for a few years.
It was not an easy task though - trying to not be overwhelm the piece with beads, I chose to use mixed metals (gold vermeil, raw and antique brass plate and antique silver plate) to create this look, with only a touch of colour in the garnet Swarovski crystals in the raw brass flowers top and bottom of the glass vial.
The microfaceted Cubic Zirconia droplet is suspended within the pendant, and it makes a delightfully subtle "tinkling" sound with your body movement. The rhinestones on the bail create an extra touch of bling. As an added bonus, the rhinestone bail opens so that you can take the pendant off this ribbon and put it onto a ribbon, chain or anything else you fancy, at any time!
The black velvet ribbon has an antique brass toggle and the ribbon itself is also embellished with antique silver and brass seed beads, in keeping with the pendant. I love the air of mystery it evokes.
Pendant length: 8cm (3in)
